AIP AND CHRONIC OXIDATIVE STRESS INVESTIGATIONS

VeriPrime Research Division cooperated with Omni Animal Health to conduct a 1 year investigation involving over 200,000 head of cattle.

AIP INVESTIGATION

A 1 year investigation revealed that ~50% of acute AIP cases lost clinical signs in <12 hrs after receiving DuoPort Drench ™. Research indicates AIP can be an acute symptom of an abnormal buildup of metabolictoxins. Buildup of toxins increases over the feeding period and is called Chronic Oxidative Stress (COS).

CHRONIC OXIDATIVE STRESS (COS)

A second formulation, included in rations via micro machines, called DuoPort GPX ™ was fed to over 200,000 head. Treated cattle had reduced incidence of AIP and increased ROI from beta agonists. The ROI in heifers improved 21% more than steers. COS reduces intakes, slows growth, and affects heifers more than steers. Heifers had 73% greater oxidative stress than steers (P<.001) when tested on the kill floor.
